Gnero

“Gods Nino Primero". English translation,"God’s First Child". GNERO born Martin Sanz is the youngest of eight children from the Dominican Republic that migrated to New York and was raised in the chaos filled streets of crown city Corona Queens. The ages between 7 and 10 proved lucrative to Gnero’s passion and desire that aligned him to his destiny to make good music.

While in elementary school, he became part of a church choir (not by choice) and discovered his love for melodies, notes, instruments, and music. In these early years he became part of his school’s orchestra and band learning how to play all saxophones (alto, tenor, and baritone). That exposure & passion continued and manifests and as he became a mature adult, performing was still in the blood. From 2003 to 2006 he was introduced to the modeling world and that led to acting where he went as far as obtaining an agent from a top company, Gilla Roos. Despite the involvement in different spectrums of media & entertainment, music remained his undivided passion and focus.

2001 was a defining year and for Gnero,. His campaign had begun to become the most complete latin hip hop artist of his time. Juggling his different skills didn't slow him a bit, and while modeling and acting, he dropped his first mixed cd independently in 2005 with then group 151, followed up with his second more seasoned independently released cd in 2007 with still music partner Big Vene. Gnero’s musical accomplishments include features on various artist mixed cd's as well as albums.. Having done jingles for La Mega 97.9, Gnero has gotten heavy play in the country of Colombia under the supervision of radio host Johnny Torres, and has had five top 10 songs on Extravagangsta Internet Radio. Performances include the Bowery Poetry Club,
Club Casino, and S.O.B's. Over 100 tracks have been recorded for the public, promising the next 100 to be fuego for his afficionados. 2008 was another defining year where Gnero met Tommy “2 face” Davis and Carey “C.R.” Richardson of Darkage Entertainment to help solidify his quest of becoming the next relevant Latin artist of our time. Since becoming part of the Darkage Entertainment family, it has allowed him to flourish & focus more on his creative and professional goals. To date he is positioned to release his first solo album. Gnero navigated and stayed the course that most artist detour from which will lead him to the ultimate prize. The world is enjoying the music of Martin Sanz a.k.a. GNERO.
